Backing Your Hoop

While there are many different techniques out there in the world, these are the techniques I've used to back my pieces.

Easy-Peasy Technique

The easiest way to back your hoop (and especially if you have a nice hoop butt!) is to trim the excess fabric around the hoop until there is about 1 inch left. With this 1 inch of excess fabric, use a running stitch around the entire piece and pull the edges together, finishing with a bow.

My Preferred Technique

This way is similar to the previous strategy with one extra step. If you want to add a bit of pizazz or hide a messy hoop butt (Like me), add the included backing fabric to the back of your project to cover the stitchesbefore placing into your hoop. Tighten your hoop and follow with the steps of the "easy-peasy way."
